       Summary:Through the development process of physical education in schools in our country, this paper analyzes the current development of physical education in China and the existing problems, and proposes solutions to the existing problems.

       1 The stage of sustainable development of physical education in our country (since reform and opening up)
       The end of the Cultural Revolution, the convening of the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee indicates that China will enter a new era, and the physical education of various schools will also usher in a spring of rapid development. In April 1978, Deng Xiaoping pointed out at the National Education Work Conference that schools are places for cultivating talents for socialist construction, and that educators should be developed in moral education, intellectual education, and sports. Reaffirmed the status and guiding ideology of school sports. [1].Since then, under the attention of the party and the government, various policies and measures to promote school physical education have been introduced. The faculty, teaching equipment, rules and regulations of school physical education have also gradually improved, and school physical education has shown a thriving scene.
       2 Problems in school physical education
       Since the reform and development, the achievements of school physical education in China have not been questioned, but this does not mean that there is no problem in school physical education. In fact, there are still some outstanding problems in school education in our country, mainly reflected in the following aspects.
       2.1 The distribution of physical education resources is uneven
